I have been using Ni-MH D's in my redbutton for about
8 months. I love them. For one thing, they are
noticably lighter than normal bateries! They aren't
cheap, but I was going through batteries quite often
(I take my slides to parties, and art events), so it
has saved me quite a bit of money by not having to
replace them. The light output is great, and there
should be no memory.

I posted to the list about this many many months
ago...

Also I have used Ni-MH AA's in my flash, and they
worked better than normal batteries. I got 110 full
power flashes in a Vivitar 285, then the batteries
were empty and needed to be recharged. The recycle
time was about 8-10 seconds for every test fire! With
normal "premium" non-rechargables, I got about 50
shots with about 10 second recycle time, then another
50 shots that each one took longer and longer to
recycle. By the last 10 shots, it took almost a
minute to recycle. Ni-MH is better, based on my
tests!
