You know, I am on another photo list where people politely ask who is
interested in particular items on ebay. If there are conflicts, many
folks will say something like, "Oh I already have three of them, so I'll
leave it to you," or "I just wanted to be sure it had a good home, so I
will bow out if you really want it.

Furious bidding wars among the members of that group are non-existent.

Of course if I were the seller, I would see the downside to this. 8-)
