I, too have done this Harold. I feel it is only fair when
the item exceeds my expectations and I got it for what I
feel is a fantastic price. And I have offered this to some
of the sellers I purchased from who refused my offer and
felt the selling price was fair for them.

I also have refunded money for items bid on and won by my
bidders when I feel they have gone for too much. Either the
item was not as nice as I thought (which can happen when
I don't look the VM reel/packet over very carefully before
listing it), or there are just too many selling for less than
the high bid on mine and it truly is not fair to the buyer.
I never put a reserve on my items either -- don't believe in
them.

I feel this is one reason I have no negative feedbacks. I try
to treat the ebay folks as fair as I would someone on sell-3d
or at an NSA convention.

P.S. In regards to another posting -- I don't believe it is
possible to see what folks have in the "watching" bin. Even
as a seller, you do not know how many folks may be "watching"
your item.
