[photo-3d] The return of chromastereopsis???

Not too long ago, I went on a photo safari to the Norton Simon Museum in
Pasadena. A good time was had by all.

At one point, I decided to take a picture of a painting in stereo. After
lining up the obligatory object in foreground to prove this was indeed
stereo, I snapped the picture and moved on.

When I mounted the picture, I was very surprised to see a pronounced 3d
effect in the painting itself. It happens to be a Van Gogh, and my theories
of why range from chromastereopsis to sheen angle on the thick paint.

Regardless, it's a cool photo. Any other theories?
