[photo-3d] Re: Scanner Test

I'm looking forward to reading more about the film scanner
comparisons. It might also be helpful to have one of the slides
scanned to Kodak Photo CD format - I'll volunteer to do that. The
first question that comes to my mind when considering the purchase of
a film scanner is how its output compares to the Photo CD format.
Not that Kodak Photo CD is ideal, but if I could at least match that
at home I could justify buying a film scanner. B&H lists some
interesting film scanners from Nikon that will be available in a few
months. The Super Coolscan 4000 ($1695.00) scans 35mm film at 4000
dpi optical with a dynamic range of 4.2. The Super Coolscan 8000
($2995.00) has the same specs but also scans medium format. I
wonder if I could fit a ViewMaster reel in the MF holder? Jim Harp
