That's too bad, they were really good. He also had a kit
version. I guess these are not available anymore?

I dare not take my PokeScope apart, lest I void the warranty,
but yes it could be done. If you were to take the brass insert
that joins the two parts of the PokeScope and interchange
them, you could then use them to view R-L (cross-oriented)
images. I've done this with similar prisms but not as good
quality as those used in the PokeScope.

If they were non-magnifying, it would work. The problem
with using magnifying prismatic lenses is the paths would
be too short and consequently the angles too great.
Another easy way to cross-view R-L oriented images is
to use two low power monoculars (or take apart one
binocular). Using this approach, all one has to do is
converge the monoculars slightly so that the right
monocular is aimed at the left image and the left
monocular on the right image. It works surprisingly
well.
