While I was developing the Pokescope 3D viewer, I had the
option of deciding on a x-eyed version. However, before
developing a commercial product, I wanted to be reasonably
sure that I was on the right side of the technology.

First, of all I should mention that x-eyed viewers are much
more difficult to design and have severe performance limitations.
On the other hand, the x-eyed format is quite commonly used to
display stereo images on computer screens because it has
certain advantages in free-viewing for certain people.

It would be attempting to try to design a x-eyed viewer for
viewing all the stereo images displayed in the x-eyed format on
the web. However, you have to consider the reason that the
cross-eyed format was being used in the first place which was the
lack of a well-designed viewer. It is interesting to note that
despite the apparent advantages of the cross-eyed format, the
cross-eyed format is virtually never used in printing stereo images
for commercial purposes. I my opinion, viewing stereo images on
a computer screen is not fundamentally different than viewing stereo
images in print. This is the reason, I decided to go with the
advantanges of the parallel format.

Nevertheless, I believe that the consumer will be the ultimate judge.
