I am not good at cutting and pasting, and when I looked up at the above
(after slicing and dicing), I realize that I may have inadvertently credited
the above to the wrong person. If so, I apologize, and please correct me.
Anyway, the real reason for this post is that it brought back memories from
the 1960's, when I participated in an international audiotape round robin
with one of my favorite mentors, the late Don Jeater. Even though Don was
from a different area (the Channel Islands), he would frequently communicate
with various TDS members, and report on their doings.
One thing that always stood out in my mind was the high amount of activity
and both artistic and technical creativity among the membership. Various
members would often design and build their own equipment. Not only image
splitters, but whole stereo cameras and stereo projectors as well. I was
impressed!
Why this is important, is that I feel that we should look not only at club
attendance figures, but the interest and contributions of the membership as
well. I feel that other clubs around the world (and especially the U.S.)
would do well to emulate the activity of the TDS.
