It would be tougher for slides but I have made mask overlays to include with
folio prints so I can show the maker, how much to mask off of which sides. If
I was dealing with slides I would  scan them and mask in Photoshop. Send them
a copy (either in print or digital). Along with the print, you could send a
pre-printed note on the window guidelines.
