[photo-3d] Re: To math or not to math

In my very deservedly humble opinion, the question should not be WHETHER to
math or not, but WHEN. If you have the time, the inclination, the knowledge,
and a subject that is either immobile or has reproducible mobility, go for
it! For a wide range of subjects, though, I'd suggest a much humbler
approach: bracketing. Just extend the exposure principles that 2-D
photographers have been using from time immemorial to the inter-lens
distance. Start with the 1-in-30 "rule" and increase and decrease from
there. When you develop your film, pick the pair that works the best. In
time, through experience and observation, you'll find yourself wasting less
film and getting more reliably distanced pairs. Just MHO, of course.
