Grant, what are you doing? Helping this guy with your camera!? Who would
use an S1 and a free tutor and voluntarily give that up! You're losing
sympathy fast here! :-) Let the guy struggle with NO manual, NO mounting
guidance, and see how he likes his pseudo pairs! Then he'll call YOU to
come and get the camera.
Secondly, there are legal issues, and ethics issues. No offense to Jim
Norman or other fine folks like him........but this is a case where
legality may conflict with right and wrong. The guy has made it clear
that he will NOT do the RIGHT thing because he may have legal cover.
This "moral relativism" attitude is what is wrong with society today.
Nobody believes in " absolute" right and wrong...........if this were 30
years ago, he'd have an angry mob in his front yard waving Realists at
the picture window! 
I think you should stay very close to his side, and become his second
shadow. When he hits you with a restraining order.........now this story
is ripe! Prime time news!!
