People have been asking what the whole story is.  Well here it is from 
my side.  The top part is a report[edited to leave out some critical 
details] I sent to the Police, and the stuff after the *** is what 
I've learned since then.  At this point I am waiting to hear from my 
insurance company.

P.S. Perhaps, I should let the off list emails be answered only off 
list, but, for those who don't see the difference between Dan's 
ownership and my ownership of the camera, here's the difference.  I 
think the difference is that Jon Golden had the right to sell me the 
camera. The right was given to him by agreement with RBT in Germany.  
The thrift store (unknowingly) did not have the right to sell Dan the 
camera. The thrift store gains its right to sell your possessions only 
when they are intentionally donated to the thrift store by you or your 
executor.  My camera was not intentionally donated, and therefor the 
store did not have the right to sell it and Dan is not the rightful 
owner.  I don't have the right to just go and sell your TV without 
your permission could I?
