Different people have different standards as to what is acceptable and what
bothers them. Many people shoot "snapshots" of their friends, family, pets,
etc. If the images are slightly out of focus or the color or the exposure
is a little off, this does not seem to bother them.
Several years ago, Eastman Kodak ran a series of tests with images of
varying quality ranging from top high end professional down to "Amateur
Abominable", and showed these images to a variety of people of all ages and
walks of life. The general consensus of the survey results was: the level
of acceptable quality was such that if the average person could recognize
their Aunt Agatha in the picture, it was good enough.
I am neither agreeing nor disagreeing with your viewpoint regarding the
stereo window. Just commenting.
