I like them, I've been using them. Sometimes I get newton rings on the
glass, but I'm wondering if there is a side of the glass that prevents
that.

Take the mount, turn it so the oversized part of the frame is facing
away from you.

Very carefully torque the larger part of the frame. The smaller, inner
part should pop away. You have to be careful or you'll break the glass.
You may want to do it over a towel, too, in case it pops apart and bits
go flying.
