FYI - The old ring was created by Jonathan Gross a few years back.
After a certain amount of time, he decided that he could no longer
manage it time wise, so he handed it off to a new volunteer leader who
proceeded to change all the rules and kick about half (my estimate) of
the members of the ring off for one reason or another. (I was one who
was kicked off for not having my ring icons/links on my MAIN web page
even though the ring had a prominent mention on that page, and that
had always been acceptable before... Now, I was wrong, new owner was
right and that was the end of that!)

Then there was the splitting of the ring into two rings, the inclusion
of many barely 3D (if at all) sites in the ring, etc, etc, etc... In
the end, when I heard that the remainder of the ring was being moved.
I figured why bother... This thing was barely functional any longer
IMHO, and I no longer agreed with the management of it, so why bother?
