I've never had much luck with blower brushes.
I've owned a couple of the Static Master brushes, and they work
reasonablely well, but I tend to throw them out after their expiration
date. I don't think I've seen replacement cartridges in a camera
store. By the way, Static Master brushes use alpha particles to
ionize air molecules, which in turn help attract dust to the brush.
Alpha particles are stopped by just about anything, a couple of sheets
of paper, clothing, even the dead layer of skin cells on the outside
of the epidermis. You only have to worry if you swallow one of the
cartridges.
I wouldn't use any type of vacuum cleaner. All you wind up doing in
the long run is throwing the dust into the air to land back on the
film.
I've have very good luck with the brush that comes as part of the Lens
Pen. They also work very well for cleaning lenses.
