I have been looking for answers to this problem as well. Even Imax has it.
They have a very sophisticated system with an air jet the blows across the
film every time the gate opens. The Imax projectors have two sheets of
glass in the gate that clamp down on the film and hold it flat during the
time that the shutters are open. Unfortunately, they clamp down on any dust
particles, that are magnified to become very large on the big screen. So
the air jet is supposed to blow them out... Yet, I have seen them get
trapped in the gate for several frames, sometimes even several seconds
before they are blown out. Yet, some type of miniature version with air
blowing across a slide might be useful in a stereo projector.

You mentioned the Staticmaster brushes. I have thought about the possible
mounting of a pair of these, one on each side of the slide, on the side of
the stereo projector, so that they would brush and neutralize each slide
just before it went into the projector.

Any other ideas?
