My best results to date have been with my slide duplicating tube. I
purchased this 2x2 dupe tube for my Konica some years ago. I had made a
small insert in order to hold my Realist format slides. The bonus was
that the tube had a zoom feature. The drawback was the square Realist
format versus the oblong 2x2 format. Still, dupes came out nice and
sharp. My original goal was to create an insert that would allow me to
move the Realist mount from left to right properly centering each film
chip in the duplicating tube. However, the Konica has since "bit the
dust" (kids playing with it) so that project has taken a back seat for
now.
I have had less than stellar results using my Acerscan 620ST which has a
lighted lid for transparancies. However, that too has started working a
bit better now that I have four times the memory I had a few months
ago. I'll have to go back and re-scan some of the slides I made prints
of and compare them now that I have more computer memory to perform the
scans.
I do have a relatively inexpensive digital camera. I may have to try
the camera/loupe method and see what I come up with.
Regards,
Ron
