Well, I've been experimenting with a 2.3 megapixel Ricoh digital camera. I
shot some sequential stereos, and then wrote them to film.

The resultng film is just about OK for projection - though the images lack
contrast which I guess I could bump up in Photoshop...

In a hand viewer they're on a par with 400ASA with less than optimal lenses.

Now, I know that 2.1 megapixels is not state of the art, but I can just about
justify two of these, but I couldn't justify 2 of the new 4 megapixel cameras
- particularly if they have true 4 megapixel sensors - and are not making up
the extra pixels by clever manipulation...

Meanwhile film still delivers great resolution - even with 50 year old stereo
cameras at half the price of a mono digital! And I can scan at 4000 DPI and
get some REALLY big files!
