I have a Wein slave flash adapter for my Vivtar 285.
I've heard that some of the digicams fire the flash more than once,
even with red-eye reduction turned off. The first flash is for color
balance and the second flash is the main flash. The color balance
flash fools the slave flash into firing early.
I don't know if the CP800 does this and I haven't bothered to test it.
I don't use flash enough to be bothered, but I know a lot of people do
and I figured they should know the limitations of the CP800 flash.
