Browsing through the archives I came across some posts relating to
twinning Olympus Stylus Epic cameras and could it be done etc.
It sounds like these are the same cameras that sell in the UK under
the name of Olympus Mju II, (pronounced "mew" as a cat would) anyway
I have twinned two of these on a home-made mount and am very pleased
with it.
Picking out various points from various posts I can answer that;
no I have not hard wired them, apart from not having the electronic
knowledge to do it I didn`t want to worry about snagging cables or
void the waterproof feature, because the cameras are superbly light
and small I can comfortably hold the mount between both thumb and
index fingers and press both shutters simultaneously. Yes I agree the
tripod mounts are in a stupid position and cause unnecessary movement
which was overcome by sticking a piece of non-slip rubber matting on
the camera mount, I can move the rig around now with no slippage
whatsoever. Yes you can fire both cameras simultaneously with the
infra-red remote control, but, only if you want to be in the
picture ! it only works from the front, having tried it whilst at the
rear and trying to "fire" it at the front (there is a nice 3 second
delay to allow re-composition) I found that my aim was not accurate
enough to get more than 30% simultaneous firing and is obviously of
no use.
Happy Shooting to all,
