I agree! I didn't buy one; a look at the pictures on the Web site
was enough! The Pentax splitter, while pricey (but not
prohibitively so), is compact, well-designed, and very practical
to use. The basic principle of a splitter looks deceptively simple,
but I know from hard experience that correct alignment is difficult
to achieve and maintain--one of the major failings of the Stitz
splitter (which is usually far overpriced in terms of cost
effectiveness; if collectors want to pay big bucks for a cool
gadget, fine). I'm going to keep on trying with my modified Franka
for telephoto use, but I know it's going to be tough.
