hello, george--
i'm not making a fuss over a non-issue.  my statements were made in response
to another nsa member who voiced concern over this issue in this forum.
i've been an nsa member since 1987 and have gone to about ten conventions,
and this situation has arisen many times.
the nsa board has tried to deal with it with compromises (their outlook),
but it always seems to me that the vendors have come out ahead.  yet, after
all these years, there is still no resolve as to why "stereo world" is
issued so late that ads and articles placed in the magazine are stale or
outdated.
one of the most annoying aspects is the annual cramming of many slide
presentations into the first day, starting in the early morning, often
before people have had a chance to check into the hotel.  i firmly believe
that this cramming is done to accomodate vendors, some of whom would prefer
to draw people to their tables, than have them viewing slide presentations,
and not spending $$$.
just as some vendors worry about the loss of potential customers, slide show
presenters, (i was one of them on several occasions) have seen diminished
audiences because the trade floor was in a competing time frame.
i believe that those who present programs, and those who love to view them
are much more of what the nsa is or should be about, rather than a platform
for profit-making.
