Yes, the printed versions are better (not great mind you, just better).
True,... color newspaper printing is limited BUT as you mention yourself,
the web versions are, "REALLY bad!", so bad in fact, that the newspaper
versions ARE better!

It seems they screwed up the web version images with high compression
jpegs. High compression jpegs are often times detrimental to anaglyphs,
especially in the detailed part of the image. That's why I often will
post anaglyph images as gifs. Even with their limited color palette,
they often tend to work better. Not always mind you, depends on how
many colors the original scene has.

They do look like Qdos but I don't they are. Looks to me like twin zoom
SLR's or maybe even paired zoom digital cameras with no attention to
proper focal lengths or stereobases. Most of the images are very
cardboardddy, even those viewed further than arms length.

As I've mentioned, the images (in the newspaper) are passable. There are
varying degrees of success. Some are pretty good, all things considered.
I've seen worse.
