If you can live with 100 mm lens separation (I can for most shots),
you might consider building (or having someone build) an Olympus XA
twin rig. When connected in master slave mode, near perfect
synchronisation can be achieved. The rig is about the same size and
weight as a Realist, but has the advantage of later design pin sharp
lenses, aperture priority automatic exposure control and the
availability of full height landscape format slides.
