If you search under "snipe" on eBay, there are quite a few sniping
software packages available.  I've used BidSniper quite successfully.
It's only around $12 for the software, and I've already gotten one
free upgrade.

The only problem with this, as compared with the on-line sniping
services, is if your own network connection is intermittent, you may
miss an auction.
