They already exist (Kaiser, and now, several others as well).  Ridiculously
expensive (but then, CT scanners aren't exactly cheap).  But, prices will
come down.  Just last week I saw a pair for less than $100.  Not the
resolution of a pair of Kaisers, but not $20K either.
