Two more points on this:

1) These two methods do not necessarily contradict 
   each other, as I pointed out earlier.

2) When dealing with the stereo base, a 10% change 
   means very little.  Try 50% or 100%.  My two RBT
   cameras have a lens separation of 59mm and 75mm.
   I use both and see little difference in the results.
