S3D Exploded view[er]

Jim Norman having opened his "exploding viewer" experiences to public
analysis by his many posts on the topic, and having had my nose forcibly
rubbed in it by his recent 200+ line post, I will offer some opinions:

- It seems to me that the main problem is that Jim just didn't understand
the rules under which Ebay operates - specifically he seems to be expecting
some sort of "guarantee", even though none seems to have been mentioned
in the ad. If he insists that his purchases come with a guarantee, I agree
that he should stick with commercial retailers, or individual sellers who
state ahead of time that they offer a guarantee. Providing a guarantee
represents a real cost to the seller, which rightly should be passed along
to the buyer as part of the purchase price, or as a "service contract".
Some buyers prefer to pay for the guarantee - others would rather save on
the purchase price, and assume the risk themselves.

- I can understand that Jim is upset that his viewer "exploded". But I do
not believe that justifies his posting what in my opinion are false (or
at least unfairly biased) statements about the seller.

- From recent posts on S3D, this seller has received 100+ positive comments
on previous sales, and only one negative comment. That sure doesn't sound
like the record of a seller with a pattern of abuse. Without knowing all the
facts, it sounds more like a reputable (within the parameters of Ebay)
seller, being unfarly maligned by a buyer with unreasonable expectations.
There seem to be a lot of facts missing from the public description of this
case, which hamper the readers' ability to make a rational judgement on the
matter. (Not that I'm advocating further posts on the matter.)

Jim is welcome to post his opinions on this matter, and I feel free to 
post my opinions.
