Nope, extra cartridges were available-- I have the brochure and it states
(as well as shows an accompanying picture) "View 50 Stereo slides in a
matter of minutes with this portable viewer. Extra cartridges available.
To exchange the "50" slide cartridge slide it out like this. Cartridges
can be stored intact in dust-proof case and another cartridge inserted."
