I managed to fix the light but the viewer would need a very good TCL.
I loved the family pictures but the format (MF glass plates) is new to
me and I am not equipped with good viewers to enjoy it.  If these
were Realist-format slides, I would have kept them, but, given this
unusual format  I'd rather pass them to someone else.  It would be
nice for the family to get the images back, assuming that they want
them, by acquiring them at market value (collectors do not run
charitable organizations...someone must pay for the mistake to
discard these in the first place) but I do not have time or inclination
to do this myself.

The reason I pulled them out of ebay is that I did not feel comfortable
with the public display of the images.  But without the images it would
be difficult to explain what this is all about.  So, finally, I decided to
pass this collection to a good friend who has a large collection (sort
of a private museum) of similar stereo images.  I trust that they are in
good hands.
