Yeah, but the rest of us are wondering, George, how much money can we get
out of you for our signature _right now_? ;-) (That's a joke
folks!)

______

I am a great advocate of the free market. If the SSA Yearbook gets bid up
to a high value in an auction, I think that is certainly good news. Now as
to who should receive the "royalties," that's an interesting question.
SHould it be George, who had the good idea to go on ebay with it?

The great value of the SSA Yearbook is not the result of just the
individual contributors' pages and images. Most of the value derives from
idea of doing it in the first place, and from the subsequent fine
execution/production by Shab Levy - obviously a labor of love.

Obviously Shab made the book for the love of the SSA. I imagine he would
be pleased if the SSA can profit from any "collector value" that the book
might generate. And as the ultimate source of the book, he certainly can
control the market price by manipulating the supply (i.e. George has no
monopoly on the book).

I doubt that the benefit to the SSA of a price run-up (due to restriction
of quantity) would outweigh the benefit of getting more people introduced
to the SSA (by liberally producing the book).

______

Where Shab's intent with the book were utterly pure, I admit that at least
to some extent, I wanted to participate to get my art "out there," to
market myself. Only after I got the book, did I realize how badly
misplaced my rather "commercial" bio really was.

I'll take this opportunity now, to say what I should have said in my bio -
in my message to the NSA membership.

Thank you! Thank you for introducing me to stereo, for teaching me about
stereo, for giving me ideas, for giving me a forum for showing images and
receive feedback. And that's probably not all I need to be thankful for,
just part of it.

Again, thank you to the SSA and Shab Levy.

Boris

P.S.
Latest bad news in the linguistic battle,
I've seen ads for "stereo 3D" _sound cards_!
