When using two cameras on an adjustable 2 camera bar, one has to 
calculate how far apart to set the cameras - stereo base - for best 
stereo effect.  To calculate this, one needs two things.   1. The 
focal length of the lenses is easy enough.  2. For determining the 
distance to the nearest object, I guess one could guesstimate, or use 
a tape measure.  An optical range finder is much more practical. 
This little jewell comes in an attractive case that fastens on your 
belt. The closest object in the picture is more than 50 yards away.  
Use  the range finder 50 yds to  2 miles.  This is a bit more bulky; 
has to be to be accurate at greater distances.  Here we are talking
