How are they "requiring"? I use Paypal extensively and
I have not been asked to do that.
Anyway, lately as a seller I try and use Billpoint if I have a
choice. I use my Visa card and get $1 off. So, a final
charge of $5, I only pay $4. In % that's quite a bit off!
Not to mention the other side-benefits that come from
my credit card company (airline miles, money back.
etc.)
If the seller has a business account with paypal (they
pay a fee for every transaction) I get 1% back as
a buyer. So for paying a $300 bill via paypal I get
$3 back. That's quite a bit of unexpected money!
The bottom line is that the competition among different
Internet-based bill-paying schemes is good for all of us.
Given all these choices I don't know why would anyone
want to write a check anymore or wait in line in the
bank or the post office to get a money order!
Just my opinion...
