[sell-3d] Realist stereo base corrector

A preliminary test of a matched pair of Zeiss prisms seems to indicate I could
build a stereo base corrector for the Realist, so you really could shoot at
the 2.5 foot range with correct geometry. This would be a quick attach item
via the tripod mount. It would make it possible to shoot portraits without
distortion. The drawback is that without modifying the camera lens housing, it
will only get you a 4p stereo pair, because the edge of the prism is visible
at the full 5p. I think if the outer edge of the housing's lens shades were
removed, it would get the full 5p because you could move the prisms closer to
the lenses, but I didn't want to take a file to the only unaltered Realist I
have. If this was done, then you'd need to make a circular spring or some
other lens shade setup to replace the function of the original lens shade--
e.g. cover the removed space to keep side light out of the lens for normal
shooting. The stereo base would be about 1.25 inches-- hard to tell precisely
until the unit is actually completed and installed. Would anyone be interested
in buying something like this, even with 4p stereo pairs? If so, how much
would it be worth to you? LMK off list. --Elliott
