I think, in a way, this may be the basis of Bill's observation that
the large aperture helps depth perception. If one thing is sharp and
the other fuzzy, and they are immediately adjacent to one another in
your field of view, you know they're not in the same "depth plane".
This is not parallax-based stereopsis, of course, but one of a long
list of additional depth clues.

Sorry, not kidding. However, if people on this list would like to
see that changed, I think it's perfectly reasonable to have him here.
Certainly the SL3D topic is technical enough. I've known Bill off
and on for nigh on to 45 years and I will vouch for him being one of
the nicest guys you'd ever hope to know. Allan W is also known to
me personally and is very kind. I think Paul Kline is a good man and
I believe he is technically adept at the level of the other people on
this list. That's the SL3D crew. Shall we add them en masse and
transfer the topic to tech3d? What would interested photo-3ders think
if that topic disappeared from their list? That topic started on the
photo-3d list before this list was even a twinkle in Bob's eye. Reply
to me off list unless you want your reply recorded for posterity in
the archives of tech3d. 8-)
