That's It!

I think the answer is yes, though.  When you are using 200 mm lenses to
take the picture and 43 mm lenses to view the image, you will see a
distortion in the Z direction (squash).  If you increase the stereo base you
can correct the Z distortion, but you will introduce X and Y distortion.
