For P.J.Homer I have upgraded my lens combination spreadsheet
and also given Joel a graphic of how the Newtonian and Gaussian
forms of the lens equation relate to each other.  This graphic 
shows some interesting consequences in magnification.  Go to
Tech 3D's web site (kindly maintained by Mr. Alpers):

And bring down:

      John B's Lens Combo spreadsheet (XLS)
      Newtonian and Gaussian forms of the lens equation

Which become:
      LensCombo.xls   (works on Mac or PC)
