Shin Shimojo has a setup like this in his lab.  Based on a BarcoGraphics
projector (I don't remember if they do the stereo accesories or if those
came from somewhere else; the local company was called Hoffman Video),
there's an LCS screen in front of the CRTs that flickers at (I think) up to
120 hz (60/eye).  They also provide a passive-polarized option, in which
case the thingy in front of the CRTs flips polarization at 120 hz & you use
the regular glasses.  You need a metallic screen for the passive option but
not for the other, so the prices end up being similar (in the 35-40k range)
for small audience sizes...
