Additional comment - I just found out today that they've been publicly
announced, so I can comment that there's an additional projection technology
to address Tony's concerns over poor video projection quality:
Color (RGB) laser projection, using mechanical scanning (!) of the laser
beam to the screen. (Horizontal scan is done using a rotating polygon mirror,
vertical deflection in the announced system uses a mirror/galvanometer.)
