Well,

I got back my test roll. IT WORKS!!!!!

There were a few problems of course, but I am very pleased with this
experiment.

I haven't mounted them yet, but to the naked eye, there is no doubt
about it, there is a decent depth of field (or as good as the nimsy
will get).

Here are some problems:

1)The battery I used wore out before I finished of the whole roll, and
I only turned it on while I was taking pictures.

2)The flash didn't give a natural lighting feel, and blew out parts of
the image easilly.

3)A few shots were ruined when the flash didn't fire because of the
hotshoe being bigger than my flash (the flash wobbled)

Some solutions:

I will see if a standard 9 volt battery will put out enough energy to
keep the light bright enough. If it does, than it should last a lot
longer than the tiny 12 volt I was using.

Unless someone here can think of something better, I may need to get a
ring light flash (mucho dinaro). I may try iether to set the flash
further back and up higher, or even better, if I could use a tiny
flash from a built in flash of a pocket camera and install it just
above and to the side of the nimslo. Anyone have an idea where I
could get one or two of these, and also if it would be difficult to rig?
I can put some more nutral density filters on the flash to lower the
light output to take care of how hot it got.

As far as the wobbly flash I will stick some paper in there to hold it
steady.

Luckilly I have a flash meter and I was able to loosely tell if I was
getting near f22 when the flash was positioned.

So, it still needs some more experimentation, but I quite sure that
this was well worth it. It was also really easy to put together!
