T3D dual aperture, single lens
- From: Tom Deering <tmd@xxxxxxxxxxx>

As I try to design cameras, I keep bumping against two obstacles. If I use
two lenses, then the shutter is the problem.
But I've tried building a macro camera where I replace the iris with a pair
of fixed apertures. This fixes my shutter problem, but the geometry seems
too confining.
Has anyone found a happy balance using a single lens with two apertures?
I'd like to hear about working examples as opposed to theoretical designs.
Or is this one of those ideas that sounds good on paper, but doesn't have
many practical applications?
THANKS!
Tom
