T3D geometry of a MF macro camera

I have designed, I think, a medium format stereo camera. A scale drawing
with measurements is at http://www.deering.org . If anyone has comments on
the general design or geometric assumptions I've made, I'd love to hear
them.

It strikes me that medium format offers some advantages to the person who
wants to build a macro stereo camera. It seems to me that:

1. The entire lens board can be moved away from the film plane easily,
keeping all the major parts aligned.

2, For that matter, the lens boards can be brought closer together to make
a built-in stereo window (and the lens, shutter, iris, and controls move
with it.)

3. The flash contacts stay aligned as you move the shutter.

4. The generally square nature of the camera would make it easier to
maintain alignment while siamesing and modifying.

5. An "extension tube" could be made of a variety of flat/straight
materials, and would be easier to keep square.

6. Everything's bigger! For example, the nice big shutter mechanism begs
to be hacked.

Please somebody shoot some holes in my design before I build one of these
suckers. :^) Take a look at http://www.deering.org and let me know!

Cheers,

Tom
