I think so, especially since other manufacturers also make polarizer
plastics.  There are some thicker polarizers out there made on thicker CAB.
For example, I use the .030 thick stock and it will hold up to much abuse.
However, there are some new materials coming to the market that are
exceedingly thin and do not require oriented Molecular structures such as
the oriented PVA layers on CAB. The reports are the materials can be thinly
coated on glass and will stand up to 350 degrees F for some 500 hours, and
provide different colors if desired.
