As John (I think) points out, "depth of field", and "hyperfocal distance",
are subjective; depending upon what you want to call "sharp". An example
would be the differences between lenses used on 35mm motion picture cameras,
vs. 16mm cameras. As a different applications are anticipated for each, the
tolerance for a "sharp" circle of confusion is double for the 16mm!
