T3D re: interocular question

>From the few responses I received from persons with wide (65-75mm)
spacing -- the consensus seems to be that the wide spacing does *not*
interfere with easy, fused viewing through the standard View-Master
Model L viewer. The inability to fuse the 2 images might have to do with
some kind of binocular vision defect.
>From my own observation, I would conclude that interocular adjustment is
useful mostly for placing the lenses horizontally relative to the image
frame to enable viewing of the entire frame. When the image frame is
small relative to the lens field, as is the case with the standard V-M
Model L, there's little or no need for interocular adjustment. When the
image is large relative to the lens field, as with the Dukes or deWijs
viewers, interocular adjustment becomes helpful or necessary for
complete coverage of the image.
Where the viewing lens doesn't fully cover the image -- as is the case
with the 3Discover viewer while wearing glasses -- the interocular
adjustment is of very little use.
