Well said, John.

 It is pointless to say this is better than that, if the photographer is
looking for something "Artistic" rather than extreme sharpness and good
contrast. You need a baseline. For example, if I am not concerned about
sharpness, any old camera will do. If I want it tack sharp then a cheap
plastic thing will not do.
