I would agree this is true, as long as a "normal" (or viewer matched) F.L.
taking lens is used.
Many pictures taken with the RBT zoom cameras - especially action or
wildlife - tend to get taken with longer focal lengths. These types of
shots tend to look flat (or spatially "compressed" - cardboardy), and I
usually find this unsatisfying. Possible exceptions are where it is
obvious that there is no other way to get closer to the action - then I
just make believe I am seeing the action through binoculars (as these shots
mimic essentially the same type of optical arrangement).
But I may be in the minority with these preferences. The two 1st prize
winning images (card and slide) at the PSA Salon this year were of this
long F.L. / small stereobase type.
