The grain structure and the amount of IR are the two primary
differences.
One would choose one over the other by the subject matter at hand.
Kodak
generally speaking is good for the ethereal moods, while Konica is
better
for pictorial effects. You might want to check

Use a red or opaque filter. No filter will give you normal
panchromatic
results, a yellow filter slight IR effects, a red filter good IR
effects,
and an opaque filter extreme IR results.
