I have never used a stop bath for B&W processing. The owner of our local
camera store advised me not to. With the IR both Konica & Kodak, I have
just used a water stop bath. Have not noticed any spots at all on my
negatives. My negatives look great except for underexposure,
overexposure, but no dust or spots so far.
